SOCIAL PROGRAMME

Conferences organised by BABCP are well known for the quality of the scientific programme and for the opportunity provided in the social programme for delegates to meet, socialise and enjoy themselves. We do hope that you will take advantage of the social programme we have put together for the conference.

Opening Reception

Venue: University Place - The Drum

Come and enjoy a glass of wine and some canapés. Visit the Book Exhibition and “Meet your Branch Representative” during the opening reception. There is no charge for this event but admission is by your conference badge which you will have collected at registration.

Those who wish to carry on socialising can continue by exploring the City using the Conference Guide that is being put together by the Manchester Branch, this will give you information on where to go to eat, drink and party with the other delegates.


Wednesday 26th July | 19.30 - Late

   

 

Pies and Peas Manchester Style

Venue: The Deaf Institute, 135 Grosvenor Street

Come and enjoy a drink followed by pie and peas, live music by the Smiths Tribute Band and dancing until 23.30.

Ticket Cost: £15 per head.

Civic Drinks Reception

Venue: Manchester Town Hall, Albert Square
Hosted by Manchester City and the Lord Mayor

There is no charge for this event but you will need to apply for a ticket on your registration form.

The Manchester Branch are working on a programme of events in the city that delegates will be able to pick and choose from that will include music, dancing, theatre, eating and drinking and will all culminate at the end of the evening with a farewell bash at one of Manchester’s best known venues.

All delegates will be welcome and there is no charge for this event. You pay for what you do.

The Rebellion Evening (not to be missed)

Join us at Rebellion (next to Deansgate at 2B Whitworth St, West Manchester M1 5WZ) and come and hear Bedlam - a 15-piece band of which half are BABCP members! They will rock you with one set of disco covers and one set of rock/ blues/soul from the 60-70s. When the band isn’t playing the disco will keep you dancing. If you want to eat before you join us there are plenty of restaurants in the Deansgate areas for you to enjoy.

Doors open at 8.30pm. On stage at 9.00pm. Featuring David Veale, Trudie Chalder and Simon Darnley from BABCP.

Entrance is by ticket which you can purchase at registration during the conference. The price of the ticket is £5 and includes one free drink.
